Gameweek 30: Best Players

After a long international break, Gameweek 30 returns this weekend with a promising set of fixtures. The main headliner is definitely Manchester City vs. Arsenal, and while this might be the game to watch - I think it’s probably a potential game to avoid from a fantasy point of view. Whenever two top teams clash, I tend to think the upside of the fixture goes down, for example the Liverpool vs. Manchester City game recently - where most of the popular options ended up blanking. Now these players could always end up doing well, but I would take the risk and select players from fixtures where their points ceilings might be higher!

Luckily for us, GW30 provides some great matchups so let's go through my top picks!

Tottenham Hotspur:

Spurs take on Luton this week, and I believe this is one of the best attacking fixtures at the moment. Luton have conceded one of the highest amounts of goals this season and I expect Spurs to add to that tally, handsomely. The main pick will be Son, but I would add another attacker if possible. Richarlison has been on the bench for Brazil and therefore it is safe to assume that he will return to the Spurs squad this weekend, and if he was to play upfront - I think he’s the next best pick. If you don’t want to risk a Richarlison benching, then Maddison is the next clear option. Defensively, Luton have actually been quite good going forward and with a potential Van de Ven injury - I can’t say this is a definite clean sheet for Spurs. However, the Spurs full backs, Pedro Porro and Udogie, offer massive attacking threat and that’s why I would still pick one up!

Chelsea:

Chelsea host Burnley this weekend and you have to back the Blues to do well. Palmer offers ridiculous value and since taking over penalty duties - he’s been one of the best picks. Elsewhere in the attack it’s been hard to nail down another selection, but Jackson could be the one if you think he’s gonna start. I actually like the Chelsea defense quite a lot this week - with Gusto my favorite selection. We have had rumors of him recovering from his injury this week, and if fit, I believe his attacking threat makes him the best defensive pick. Petrovic between the sticks is also a good selection as he usually gets a few saves.

Liverpool and Manchester United:

Having just played each other in the FA Cup, and being the headliner in GW32, I do like the matchups for both clubs in GW30. Liverpool host Brighton, who have been better recently, but I still expect Salah/Darwin to perform well, and Manchester United travel to Brentford, a side plagued with defensive injuries. I predict good performances from both teams and therefore would recommend selections from both teams.

Forwards:

I finally want to give a shout out to some forwards this gameweek, as there are some fantastic home matchups. Watkins vs. Wolves , Solanke vs. Everton, and Isak vs. West Ham are all great, and I expect attacking returns from all 3 potentially. Picking your forwards will be tough this week, but the variety in picks should be welcomed!
